Augie Sherman (she, her) is a New York City-based dancer and choreographer. She graduated from Connecticut College magna cum laude with a BA in dance and minors in English and sociology. She has performed in works by Ronald K. Brown, Shen Wei, David Dorfman, and Rennie Harris. Inspired by her studies in Havana, she explores U.S.-Cuban relations through written and movement research. Augie dances for Grant Jacoby and has toured with tap artist Ryan P. Casey. She is the 2017 recipient of the Martha Myers Prize for Exceptional Artistry, and a 2018 nominee for The Oakes & Louise Ames Prize for Outstanding Honors Study. Her choreography has been shown at Movement Research, Fireplace 409, Current Showcase, The Craft, Green Space, Williamsburg Art neXus (WAXworks), 7Midnights Physical Research (Arts On Site), the Liberty Hall Dance Festival, and the Salem Arts Festival.
